Which Product Fits You Best?

Liner

Liners are thin and discreet, making them a good starting point for occasional drops or very light bladder leakage. They are worn inside close-fitting underwear and are suitable for everyday use.

May suit:

  • Occasional drops or dribbles

  • Small leaks when coughing, sneezing or exercising

  • People wanting a thin and discreet product

Pads & Guards

Pads provide more coverage and absorbency than liners. Women’s pads are shaped to fit the female body, while men’s guards and protectors provide absorbency where men need it most. Pads and guards should be worn in close-fitting underwear so they remain securely in place.

May suit:

  • Light to moderate bladder leakage

  • More frequent leaks

  • People who can use the toilet and change products independently

  • Anyone wanting to continue wearing their usual underwear

Washable Continence Underwear

Washable continence underwear looks and feels more like regular underwear and can be washed and reused. It may be a convenient and more reusable option for people who prefer underwear-style protection.

May suit:

  • Light bladder leakage

  • Occasional drops or small leaks

  • People who prefer a reusable alternative to disposable products

  • People wanting underwear-style comfort and discretion

  • Daytime use or situations where the underwear can be changed and washed regularly

Pull Up Pants

Pull-up continence pants are worn like regular underwear and provide greater coverage and absorbency. They are a practical choice for active or mobile people who can dress and use the toilet independently.

May suit:

  • Moderate to heavy bladder leakage

  • Larger or more frequent leaks

  • Daytime or overnight protection

  • People wanting an underwear-like fit

  • Active, mobile or semi-mobile users

All-In-One Briefs

All-in-one briefs have adjustable side tabs or elasticated side panels. They can be easier to apply while standing or lying down and allow carers to check and change the product without completely removing clothing.

May suit:

  • Heavy or complete bladder loss

  • Bowel leakage

  • Reduced mobility

  • Bed-bound or chair-bound users

  • People who require assistance from a carer

Overnight Protection

Overnight pants and pads generally provide additional coverage and absorbency for longer periods. A product that works well during the day may not provide enough protection overnight.

Consider a night product if leakage regularly occurs while sleeping or if the usual product is leaking before morning.

May suit:

  • Leakage that regularly occurs while sleeping

  • People who need protection for longer periods between changes

  • Larger or more frequent leaks overnight

  • People who want additional front-to-back or side coverage

  • Anyone whose usual daytime product leaks before morning

Skin Care

Regular exposure to moisture can leave the skin sore or irritated. Gentle cleansing products, continence wipes and barrier creams can help protect the skin.

Change wet products promptly and seek advice from a pharmacist, GP or continence professional if the skin becomes persistently red, painful, broken or weeping.
